The new iteration of the Simply by Nature collection retains its signature inspiration from the natural world, whilst introducing a refreshed colour palette and a wider range of design possibilities. Shaw Contract, our Strategic Partner, once again combines aesthetics with a responsible approach to commercial space design.

Biophilic design: design inspired by nature

Simply by Nature draws on nature’s most subtle elements – organic patterns, soft tonal transitions and varied textures. This inspiration places the collection firmly within the biophilic design movement, which aims to introduce elements and associations linked to the natural world into interiors. The refreshed collection comprises 16 versatile colour options. Seven well-known shades remain in the collection, whilst nine new colours lend it a fresh look and greater design flexibility. The palette includes both lighter, warmer neutral tones and more saturated accents, such as Misty Mineral, Steel Blue, Red Clay, Rock Salt and Verdite Green. As a result, Simply by Nature can serve as a calm foundation for a minimalist interior, but also as a tool for creating more striking colour schemes.

Texture that defines the character of a space

One of the collection’s key features is its layered, soft textures and organic patterns. The multi-level pattern loop construction lends the surface depth and subtle variation, ensuring that the carpet is not merely a backdrop for the interior scheme, but an active element of the design. Simply by Nature has been designed so that individual tiles can be laid in different directions. This gives designers greater freedom in creating layouts – from calm, uniform surfaces to more dynamic compositions. The characteristic colour variation and layered structure also allow for seamless joining of tiles and, where necessary, make it easier to replace individual elements. This practical solution works particularly well in high-traffic commercial spaces.

Environmentally responsible design

In Simply by Nature, aesthetics go hand in hand with environmental considerations. The collection is Cradle to Cradle Certified®, and is manufactured at Shaw Contract’s carbon-neutral facility in Scotland. Depending on the chosen solution, the collection can be fitted with various types of underlay.

• TaskWorx® is available; it is manufactured using 100% post-industrial recycled material and is Cradle to Cradle Certified® Bronze.
• ComfortWorx®, on the other hand, has been developed with acoustic and user comfort in mind – according to Shaw Contract, it provides a 65% improvement in sound absorption compared to standard carpet tiles and hard surfaces.

The collection is also Indoor Air Comfort Gold® certified, confirming that it meets stringent indoor air quality requirements.
